New Bionix HP Prosthetic Knee a Perfect Fit With Active Amputees

TOLEDO, OH – A day of fun in the sun for an active amputee may not always include biking 25 miles,
running 6 miles and swimming 1 mile. But if so, the new Bionix HP (High Performance) Knee is up to
the challenge as recently demonstrated by Dave McGranahan who completed an annual triathlon in
Sylvania, Ohio.

According to Bionix Prosthetic Solutions Sales Manager, Brett Smith, the innovative Bionix HP Knee is
designed to give users fluid performance and more freedom to lead an active lifestyle, triathlons included.

"The Bionix HP Knee is a great alternative for large or active individuals. It has proven to be a reliable,
service-free, noise-free knee frame and hydraulic combination with patient-appropriate weight limits and
activity levels," Smith said.

At the heart of the Bionix HP Knee is a high performance, smooth action
single axis knee joint. The knee frame, which pivots on precision roller
bearings, is constructed of high strength, lightweight aircraft grade
aluminum. The HP Knee works with CaTech's Short Swing Phase or
CaStance Hydraulic unit, which is easily accessible with its unique
frame geometry. It features a four-bolt pattern for alignment adapters.

The Bionix HP Knee frame is fit for above-the-knee amputees with medium
to high activity levels and body weights up to 300 pounds. An optional
kneecap and discontinuous cover are available.
